Für aktuelle Spiele reicht die Leistung jedoch noch nicht (teilweise sind sie in niedrigen Details spielbar). Dadurch ist die GMA 4500MHD deutlich schneller (besonders im 3DMark06) als die alte X3100. Im Vergleich zu Vorgängerkarte GMA X3100, besitzt die 4500MHD 2 Shader mehr und wird um 33 MHz höher getaktet (GM45).

Im Grafiktreiber wird sie auch Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family genannt. Sie ist im GM45, GE45 (mit Macrovision) und GS45 Chipsatz (Montevina Plattform) von Intel integriert und beseitzt keinen eigenen (dedizierten) Grafikspeicher, sondern "zwackt" sich einen (dynamischen) Teil vom Hauptspeicher ab (je nach Anforderung).
